Managing Director, PR

At Summit Group, we help companies better understand their customers and market themselves. We’ve done this for the likes of Microsoft, T-Mobile, Subway, and Amazon to name a few. We’re entering a brand-new, exciting phase of our growth story and are searching for a managing director to lead and build out our PR practice. 

The Managing Director will work closely with the CEO on the growth and development of the PR practice. Working with colleagues and team members, the Managing Director will work on new business credentials and pitches. The Managing Director will provide great client service, retention and profitability; championing a team working culture.

Currently, we have several team members and clients in the PR Practice and we are looking for someone to build it into a string of additional new clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage and retain key clients by understanding their business challenges and offer advice on how we can help them reach their goals. You will be a champion for our clients, helping them to make informed decisions about their priorities and strategies.
  • Create strong, trusting relationships with current clients, stakeholders and potential new clients.
  • Manage a team of professionals that deliver exceptional service and measurable business results to clients.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor objectives and strategies designed to achieve superior operational results
  • Drive ongoing Business Development strategies and proactive upselling of services and products to increase retainer and project revenue.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice and lead a team of business managers.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the business components and processes, which includes but is not limited to client profitability, budgets and costs, resource planning and forecasting.
  • Identify new business opportunities and maintain close connections with key stakeholders, decision makers, and influencers.
  • Craft successful pitches by managing delivery and showcasing subject-matter expertise.
  • Manage recruitment, training and development to ensure the right people are in the right roles. Create a culture where employees feel inspired, valued and trusted.
  • Emphasize career development as a priority by consulting with managers on training needs and thinking beyond job description.

About You

You are a dynamic and assertive leader with the skills and aptitude to coach, motivate and communicate with a team. Passionate about breaking new ground to lead progress, you have B2B PR or corporate communications experience. Experience of working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and demonstrated success beyond the learning curve of remote working.

  • Extensive financial, operational and human resource understanding to drive company growth.
